This offseason has been filled with speculation about the trade that now feels more imminent than ever, that is the Boston Celtics moving Jaylen Brown. Everyone has been talking about what the ideal scenario would be for the Celtics, but what would be best for Jaylen Brown himself? That’s the question we answer today and rank his top 5 landing spots. (Not Updated since Ja Morant trade)

5. Brooklyn Nets: Jaylen Brown for 4 first round picks, Michael Porter Jr., and a 2031 first round pick swap

The Celtics have been quoted saying that in the trade they need; At least four first round picks, and an elite front court player. This trade matches all of that criteria and a pick swap. But this is not about what is best for the Celtics. It’s about Brown and what the best situation for him. Getting moved to the Nets does not mean immediate championship contention, but it does mean that he gets to be the unrivaled number one option on the team which was not something that happened in Boston. Another positive for brown is that he gets to play some of the best young talent in the entire league . With this trade his championship timeline almost resets due to the fact that Brooklyn has almost all of their best talent under the age of 23. Players like Mikel Brown Jr., Egor Demin, and Danny Wolf. The key reason that they are not higher on this list is because they would have an incredibly difficult path to the playoffs every year because you have to play the defending champions (Knicks), to of the best young teams in the NBA (76ers, and Raptors) , and the Celtics.

4. Charlotte Hornets: 4 first round picks and Brandon Miller for Jaylen Brown

To start the trade meets Boston’s demands and I can admit since the Hornets showed that they are not exactly all in when they traded Lamelo Ball earlier this offseason. That aside I believe that the Hornets have some of the best potential in the NBA and as good as Kon Knueppel is the Hornets lack a true alpha scorer who can takeover a game when they need him to. That’s who Jaylen is. If this trade were to go through I feel like this would be one of the best guard duos in the NBA. The only duos who you would not be able to have a conversation with when it comes to which duo is better are: Luka and Reaves, Curry and Butler, Mitchell and Harden, and Edwards and Ball. The only restriction I have In this scenario is that this would force the Hornets in to starting Moussa Diabate at center. He is a perfectly capable NBA player but I don’t see a world where you feel comfortable having as your starting center. Other than that I feel like this is a great landing spot for Brown

3. Toronto Raptors: 3 1st round picks, RJ Barrett, and Collin Murray-Boyles for Jaylen Brown

This is the first deal that the first deal were the Celtics are willing to compromise one the picks in exchange for multiple high end players. Why this makes sense for the Raptors. Them just like so Many teams in the conversation for Brown lack that top tier alpha scorer and that is what Jaylen will be for almost any team he goes to. While some might argue that Ingram can bear that weight he can not do it at the level that the Raptors are looking for as Barnes starts to enter his prime. This trade would unleash one of the most lithe pick and roll duos in recent history. Kawhi Leonard has also been talked about in Raptors trade rumors but Brown is clearly the better fit both from a play style and from an age point of view. What this would mean for the Celtics is that Jayson Tatum is that he gets a young stud at the 4 and a solid 2 or 3 in RJ Barrett.

2. Portland Trail Blazer: 3 1st round picks 1st round pick swap Scoot Henderson, and Jerami Grant for Jaylen Brown

In this deal Jaylen Brown gets moved to a team with one of the youngest cores in the NBA including Donavan Clingan, Deni Avdija, and Shaedon Sharpe. Just like every trade we have discussed the Celtics get many first round picks that they can use to build around Tatum and established players in the front court. For the Trail Blazers this is a lot of picks to be giving up for one player even as good as he but when it comes to Scoot he just gets replaced by Brown and Clingan can play the 4 very easily. The way I think about it’s just the picks that they’re giving up, which I believe they can live with when you’re getting a player like Jaylen Brown. When it comes to the court I would be excited to see what an offensive as loaded as this is the front and back court would be able to. If I’m Micah Nori I’m having Clingan and Avdija on the court together as often as possible because that creates match up problems from hell.

1. Denver Nuggets: Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Peyton Watson, and a 1st round pick for Jaylen Brown

Denver is the no conversation the undisputed best Landing spot for Jaylen. Why? He gets to go into one of the funnest offenses in the entire league, Play with the best player in the entire league, and compete for a championship year after year. People said that the Thunder would ruin the league if they had ended up trading for the number 1 pick, but if you get the best shooting guard in the league plus the greatest player in the 2020’s. That would be the greatest duo since Curry and Durant. Now for the Celtics this might not be the most ideal scenario after they were quoted saying they needed multiple first, but I think they would be able to live with it getting a star in Jamal Murray that more than any player in the league makes players around him better. I feel like whenever you have Jamal Murray on your team you need to multiply your talent by 1.1. For the Nuggets it doesn’t mean to much changes. They still have a window to win championships, they have the best player in the NBA, and they still have one of the deepest rosters in the league. (Even though that statement gets a little less bullet proof after the trade.)

All and all who ever gets Brown is going to be a very lucky team and Jaylen Brown ready to go prove he can win on a team where he is the alpha scorer.
